Russian Christmas in Cyprus
On January 6 of 2008, KOLIZEY for the third time held Russian Christmas in Cyprus. This wonderful feast in “Four Seasons”, one of the best hotels of Limassol, has already become a good tradition for our compatriots residing on the island.
An excellent concert with songs, dances, jests and drawings was arranged under the auspices of the Moscow City Government and the Moscow House of Compatriots.
The leading music bands of Moscow – “Musical.ru” and show ballet “Tais” – took part in the four-hour show produced after Ilf and Petrov's works. At the beginning girls who introduced themselves to the audience as comrade Bender's wives got acquainted with the spectators and invited them to participate in numerous competitions, whereupon they overwhelmed the guests of the Festival by brilliant dances.
The performance of Otto Wesseley, a famous Parisian illusionist, became the high spot of the concert. Not only the guests but even the master were set laughing by his show. As for the children present at the show, they did not let the illusionist go off-stage for a long time.
The show was crowned with a grandiose auction, for which an air ticket to Rio de Janeiro – a city of Ostap Bender's dream – provided by tour company “Visa Concord” was put up.
The holiday, which has become one of the favourite events among the official establishment of Cyprus, was traditionally honoured with the presence of the Ambassador of RF in Cyprus as well as of the representatives of the business and journalistic circles of the Republic.
