Russian Christmas in Cyprus – 2006
On January 7, 2006 in Limassol, Cyprus at the Hawaii Grand Hotel & Resort the festive celebration of the "Russian Christmas in Cyprus" devoted to the Russian Christmas Eve took place under the auspices of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Cyprus and the Association of Russian Businessmen in Cyprus.
A splendid Christmas program included Russian and foreign pop hits, dancing performed by the Moscow show-ensemble "Kourazh" and famous Russian variety artists, singers and dancers.
The program included draws, contests, tricks, comedy, and many other surprises for the entertainment of the guests. A sumptuous Russian Christmas dinner was served in the glamorous atmosphere of this five star hotel.
The climax of the Russian Christmas celebration was a unique lottery game with the main prize being one of the 50 exclusive hand made eggs by Faberge from the Saint Petersburg collection.
Celebrating the Russian Orthodox Christmas Eve in Cyprus has become one of the brightest and most popular events on the island, a wonderful tradition, cherished by thousands of Russians living in Cyprus and by hundreds of tourists who specially travel to Cyprus to participate in this remarkable occasion on an exotic and welcoming island. Among the honorary guests of the event were outstanding Russian public figures, men of art and culture, politicians and businessmen.
