Discotheque – 80s Musical Festival in Cyprus in the frames of the cultural political action "Russian days in Cyprus"
One of the most popular in Russia musical festivals "Disco – 80-s" took place on May 8, 2004 in the summer concert open hall "Kipotheatre", Limassol.
The Festival, devoted to popular dance music of the 1980-s generation became a real festivity for our fellowmen that left Russia in the 1980–90-s. Many Russians that came from Greece, Israel, other Mediterranean and from all over Cyprus received a rare chance to be engrossed by the nostalgias of their youth discos and romantic melodies of the 80-s pop music and songs. The Festival was honored by the prominent Russian politicians, businessmen, journalists and outstanding public figures.
Organizers of the Festival overturned the old truth which says "it is impossible to take the same water twice". The Disco – 80-s Festival has been carried out with unchallenged triumph all over Russia for over 4 years and its popularity is constantly growing in strength.
Rapid river of the "disco movement" engrossed the country and the Festival acquired official international status "Disco – 80-s" and in 2004 was included into the register of the leading international music festivals. Festival "Disco – 80-s" in Cyprus was one of the first triumphant tour performance of the renowned Russian musical project.
