First International Children's Music Festival "Morning Star – 99"

On November 6, 1999 the Festival of the youth vocal and scenic art  "Morning Star – 99" was held in Limassol under the aegis of the international fund "UNESCO".


 Artistically gifted children up to 16 years old from all over the world took part in the Festival.
The TV-programme "Morning star" dates back to the early 1990-s and for years had been the most popular music show-programme on central Russian television before it came to Cyprus. In the course of one contest show-programme the viewers were presented the most diverse music and dance styles from classics and folk to modern and variety. "Morning Star – 99" was broadcasted by Cyprus television both in Cyprus and Greece and by central Russian television. The broadcasting was seen in many European countries, USA, Canada, Australia, Israel.
The programme of the Festival included presentation of the event, gala-opening and the contest itself in the format of Gala-concert at the end of which the Festival winners were announced. The jury consisted of the Russian and European music and entertainment stars. Young talented artists received a wonderful opportunity to embody there creative desires and pursuits on a large stage in front of the huge audience. The project "Morning Star" always emphasized the children's talent and spontaneity that has no national and official boundaries.
The project held in Cyprus became a wonderful celebration of youth, friendship and talent at the edge of the XXI century that significantly strengthened cultural ties between the participant countries. This large-scale and a second to none action succeed in uniting of youths from all over the world, which is extremely important at the present time, when the world countries strive to nurture and harmonize cultural and friendly ties, abolition of boundaries and universal consent.
