New Year Party "Carnaval Night-2002" in Cyprus
A New Year Festivity - theatrical performance - remake of a famous movie "Carnival Night" by the Russian comedy film producer Eldar Ryazanov took place on January 12th, 2002 in Le Meridien Spa & Resort Hotel, Limassol, Cyprus
The event was organized under the support of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Cyprus, Embassy of the RF in the Republic of Cyprus.
The festive night that lasted for over 5 hours was a theatrical show with the carnival elements, which included staging of the main movie episodes, as well as play miniatures, parodies, dances and songs from the film. During the night there was a constant contact with spectators (comic jokes and funny contests were held).
Celebration of the Old New Year is an old Russian tradition, therefore we decided to give the Russians, living in Cyprus, an opportunity to celebrate it on the island, and take part in a bright and gripping show, created in the best traditions of the Russian show-culture.
